Live.

I’m not sure that there’s anything better in this world than live music.  In the past month, we’ve been lucky enough to see two of our favorite bands live, the Drive By Truckers and The Flaming Lips.

Not the best quality, but here are Dave and Brad enjoying the Truckers.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to see The Flaming Lips live, you need to make it happen.  They create the most incredible concert experience.  I first realized that David must really love me when he drove me all the way down to St. Petersburg to see the Flaming Lips. He wasn’t as familiar with their music back then, but I think he’ll tell you it’s one of the best concerts he’s ever been to.  They played at Centennial Olympic Park’s Party in the Park a few weeks ago, and it was amazing, once again. Balloons, confetti, and streamers aren’t just a common occurrence at their concerts—they’re expected!

We would really love to see Alabama Shakes in concert soon, as well as Jack White.  Do you have any upcoming concerts that we need to check out?  What is your favorite band/artist to see live?

um, that confetti pic is one of my all time faves. I actually posted it on my blog today!! I’m not the biggest concert person — I like small venues. We saw Fitz and the Tantrums at the 40 Watt last fall and they were a-maz-ing. I would love to see Florence and the Machine…MGMT…M83 (yeah they were just in ATL and my brother saw them with Sims, boo, jelly) ….

Oh! Florence and the Machine is definitely on my list, too. At first, I couldn’t stand her voice, but now I just love her.

Thanks for the love, y'all!
